The Benefits Of A Roland Digital Piano
Roland digital pianos are known to be manufactured with a high degree of class and professionalism, and most every product made by them can be depended upon to be reliable, expertly constructed, and successfully productive. It is rare to hear of instances where customers were unsatisfied with the product they received from Roland, and this is due to the countless amounts of time and effort put in by members of the company from its inception in Osaka, Japan in 1972 till today.
The company was initially founded by Ikutaro Kakehashi and has come to deal not only in musical instruments but also in Audio/Video, General Electronics, and other computer related products. The company is officially traded on the stock exchange and has a number of factories in countries such as Italy, Taiwan, Japan, and the USA.
Roland digital keyboardsand pianos make up some of the better products that can be found on the market, and this is due to the great effort by the developers and engineers to enhance technologies concerning graded hammer action keybeds, proprietary wave sampling technologies, tone selections, MIDI and connection capabilities, and many other areas.
What Makes It Stand Out
One of the first things my daughter noticed was the feel of the keys. The hammer action feels like a real piano. There is less of a disconnect when switching between an acoustic piano and this digital one. Our last keyboard had a more toy-like quality to it it didn’t possess that full key quality and action. The Roland FP-10 keys are responsive whether she plays hard or soft and feel similar to those of a standard piano, with the same tactile sensation.
While my daughter noticed the quality of the keys, I keyed into the quality of the audio. It sounds like a piano should, although it doesn’t have the depth of sound a grand piano or quality upright has, it is pretty darn close. Roland uses what they call the SuperNATURAL piano sound engine. If one were to close their eyes, they likely wouldn’t realize that it is merely a keyboard rather than a standard piano.
One of my favorite aspects of the Roland FP-10 is that there is an output for headphones. Not to disparage my daughter’s playing, but you probably understand if you happen to have a piano student in your home, too. Yes, we love that our children are learning and practicing, but the learning curve can strain the ears. If you do choose to listen to the dulcet sounds of your child tickling the ivories, the onboard speakers are quite impressive with a clear and crisp sound quality.
Authentic Sound To Engage Beginners And Inspire Professionals
Rolands SuperNATURAL sound engine delivers an authentic piano tone that feels expressive and alive, whether youre a beginner learning core techniques or an experienced player who demands detailed articulation and response.
The dynamic piano sound comes flooding into your room via powerful onboard speakers or through the headphones that let you enjoy playing around the clock.

With its SuperNATURAL sound engine, you get an intimate and customizable connection with your keyboard. Each note can be shaped to respond to your touch and dynamics with the tone and harmonic accuracy you desire. At Sweetwater, we’re impressed with the tone and feel of the RP102.

The Roland RP102 is loaded with 4 impeccable grand pianos, plus 11 other great sounds, including electric pianos, strings, organs, synthesizers, and more. There are also onboard effects. Twin Piano is ideal for lessons and duets, but that’s not the RP102’s only skill-building feature. The built-in metronome lets you practice with a perfect time reference critical for polishing your chops. Which Roland Digital Piano Should I Buy
There are a number of different manufacturers of musical instruments on the market today that could be considered trustworthy and proven brands, and all of them have a wide array of musical products to choose from. Whether it is concerning brands like Casio, Korg, Yamaha, Roland or Kurzweil, there are always certain distinctions which separate one brand from the other, and many times it is simply the fancy of the customer or a good experience with a past product that makes the difference. When it comes to digital keyboards and pianos made and manufactured by Roland Corporation, there isnt much that keeps them from being at the top of the list, and there are many people who would say they are indeed at the top.
Alternate Digital Piano Options

Is This Frp
This is currently available at Costco, but I don’t know what model it’s based on.
I saw that at Costco the other day. I don’t know if it’s exactly like an fp10 or not. I think Costco has some weird thing where they want the cheapest price for any product they are selling. So it might be roland’s way of getting around that. Maybe someone else knows details.
Saw one on display in Costco today. It seems that FRP-1 is the name for the bundle, which consists of an FP-10, a KSCFP10 stand, a PB1-BK bench, and ISK-brand HP-2000 headphones. I thought a DP-2 pedal was supposed to be included because the display had one, but apparently not and it does.
It’s not a rebranded FP-10. It’s the real deal. As soon as I saw that, I nearly gave myself a hernia getting it into the cart.
