Starting with a triad C chord is always an easy way to begin with the left hand… if you have started your pianists with easy chord inversions, this left hand accompaniment will be a snap for them!
A “little F” chord just requires the thumb to stretch to an “a”, and the G7 chord can be a “pinch” – “g” and “f” side-by-side.

I have put together 2 different arrangements for you to have a go at:

The easy piano version is in the key of C major so you have no sharps or flats. The right hand plays the melody. The melody stretches the right hand out of its normal resting position on the piano as it goes up to an A in pitch. As a result, there is some tricky fingering when moving between the G and A notes of the melody. Take a bit of time to practice it with just the right hand until you can play the tune fluently.
The left hand is simple and plays the root note of each chord and the note length is a half note each time.

What’s the easiest way for beginners to start with chords?
Probably just a single note in the left hand. I tell students this is like playing a bass guitar part. Using the sheet with chord symbols, I have them use their “pointer” finger – left hand! – to play each chord symbol key.
C – F – C – F – C – G7 – C…
Yikes – what about G7? Tell them it is the same as G, for now.

Youve already played 2 of 6 lines! Didnt we tell you this was going to be a piece of cake?
The next two lines each use the same key progression.
For the third and fourth lines of the song, we use the D, E, F, and G keys.
Still using your right hand, place your fingers over:
- G: Pinkie Finger
- E: Middle Finger
- D: Index Finger
Playing two times in a row, the third and fourth line goes like this: GG, FF, EE, D.

No matter what key youre in when you play Fixed Do,Do is always the letter C. In the case of Movable Do, the tonic note is the letter Do. For example, in the key of C Major, the letter Do is represented by the letter C, but in the key of F Major, the letter Do is represented by the letter F. There are many other syllables that are used all around the world, such as So or Sol, and Ti or Si, among others.
