Play Sonata No 14 In C
The piano sonata No. 14 was written by Ludwig Van Beethoven in 1801, in homage to his pupil Giulietta Guicciardi. The piece is one of the most popular of Beethoven for the piano, right from his time already. Within the sonata, the first part Adagio sostenuto received the most appreciation. Up to the exasperation of the composer himself who once commented Surely Ive written better things.
The piece is actually not related to the moon in any way: the name of Moonlight Sonata was later given by a critic. Hypnotic and haunting, the piece leaves any listener with an impression of deep melancholy. Its probably why it has such a massive impact on popular culture: the tune has been used in more than a hundred movies including Total Recall and Elephant!

Play Death And The Maiden Piano Sheet Music
Death and the Maiden is the second movement of the String Quartet No. 14 in D minor. It was written in 1824 by Franz Schubert after the composer understood that he was seriously ill and dying. But it was only published in 1831, three years after the death of the composer, aged 31. The piece has been described as his best quartet and a masterwork.
For this piece, Schubert put in music a poem of Matthias Claudius of the same name. It describes a young woman begging death to let her live and the conversation between them: Prithee, leave me! thou grisly man of bone! For life is sweet, is pleasant. Go! leave me now alone!. It is easy to make the connection between this lied and what was happening in Schuberts life at that time.

Funny, yet spooky, it is one of the first movies that comes to your mind when you think about Halloween. It originated from Dan Ackroyd, one of the main cast actors, who thought about a scenario that will mix his fascination for the paranormal with old ghost comedies from the 40s. The result became the phenomenon we all know now.
Part of the movies success is due to the main theme song composed by Elmer Bernstein, featuring the famous Who you gonna call? . The song became number one for three weeks on Billboards Hot 100 chart and was nominated for several awards following this.

What Notes Is The Halloween Theme
There isnt really a set melody for the Halloween theme, so people can get pretty creative with it. Some popular notes people use include the minor second, flat fifth, and flat sixth, which create a spooky, eerie sound. You can also add in some trills and tremolos to create a more ghostly effect.
There is no denying that the haunting piano theme from Halloween is one of the most enduring horror themes. The songs tension is designed to make the listener feel uneasy. Dissonance is a well-known term that refers to a lack of harmony. Im sure its unpleasant, but its very enjoyable. C and F natural rather than C# and F# should be used if you want to shift the right hand key down a half-step. Adding even more gloom is to play the left hand as octaves.

Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers
Halloween 6s theme was mostly disliked by audiences. The original music score is composed by long-time Halloween contributor Alan Howarth, his work in the series dating back to his collaboration with John Carpenter on Halloween II. However, Howarths score was redone when the film went through reshoots. A soundtrack album was released by Varèse Sarabande, and is an unusual combination of the music featured in the original cut of the film, as well as that of the final theatrical cut. Basically the Halloween 6 theme features a tapping beat amongst a loud guitar rock version of the Halloween theme.

Play The Sorcerers Apprentice Piano Sheet Music

The Sorcerers Apprentice piece was created by the French composer Paul Dukas in 1897, based on a poem of Goethe from 1797. It became an immediate success, so much so that it started to overshadow the rest of Dukas work. This didnt help with his already important self-critical side, which led him to destroy many of his compositions.
Even if the piece has always had a certain popularity, it reached a much larger audience when it became the centrepiece of one of the most well-known scenes of the movie Fantasia in 1940. Mickey Mouse putting a spell on his broom to do chores on his behalf, remember? If not, it has been heard in countless movies since, so you know this tune for sure.
No need to be a sorcerer apprentice to master this piece on the piano though! Tomplay has arranged the original Dukas sheet music for an accessible level, so you can add it to your easy Halloween piano songs own selection and entertain your friends during this special night.

Halloween Theme: What Makes The Music So Scary
The following is excerpted from the Berklee Online course Synthesis, Sampling, and Sound Design in Film Scoring: Electronic and Textural Resources.
The music from the 1978 film Halloween was revolutionary, not just because director John Carpenter also composed the score, but because of Carpenters adventurous use of early synth pads and stabs, which helped him create one of the most powerful and creepiest soundtracks of all time.
The late 1970s were a pivotal time for electronic music in the soundtrack format, and music like this was previously the domain of science fiction, but Carpenter discovered that the new electronic sounds lent themselves well to the horror genre.
Halloween was a low-budget film, which cost around $300,000. There werent enough funds to pay a film composer, let alone an orchestra. Carpenter had studied music as a kid and played in bands. He then booked a studio in LA and connected with Dan Wymanand eventually engineer Alan Howarthto help him realize the soundtrack with synthesizers. The challenge was that they had to record the music without synchronizing it to picture since the technology had not been invented yet. They played and recorded the music to a click and a stopwatch, then matched it up with the film later on the 35 mm mag stock at the film studio. Its amazing, the score works so well and really captures the horribly frightening vibe perfectly.

It is not just Michael Myers. As a matter of fact, if you want to play anything else, you will need to practice. Michael Myers is a fictional character created by Charles Zane in his 1992 movie of the same name. His performance is actually a reference to a song titled Ive Seen The Light, written by Alan Menken and performed by Randy Newman. A song by this name has been played in a number of famous musicals, such as the Broadway musical Cabaret and the movie The Royal Family.
The idea of playing one of the most iconic villains in cinema with a piano is pretty exciting. If you havent watched the movie, I recommend it. Its a fantastic movie and one of the first horror movies I watched. I could watch it again and again and again.
