All Of Me John Legend

Next on our list of easy popular songs to play on piano, we have one of the most beautiful love songs of the 21st Century, John Legend dedicated his song All of Me to his then-fiancé , Chrissy Teigen in 2013.

Great for beginners, the first part needs only the right hand the left hand only featuring slightly at the end.

If you memorize this, you are well on your way. This song is a great introduction to jazz harmony and is the perfect melody to use to practice playing stride.

Tchaikovsky Swan Lake Theme

Although it may not seem so, this piece is also easy to learn using this specific tutorial. Remember to start easy and take your time. You dont have to learn the whole song in one day. Even if it takes you all week, it will be worth it, when you are able to awe your friends while showing off your new piano-playing skills.

The best way to learn a song with these tutorials is by taking it one part at a time. For example, watch and listen to the first few notes, then pause it, learn it, practice it, then learn the next part and repeat the process until you have learned the whole song. Take time out during the day to go over what you learned so you wont forget.

Like him, she was a beginner, and they were comparing notes . Holt was thoroughly enjoying himself with the growing number of real cello pieces he could play, even though he knew his abilities were modest.

But the poor woman cellist was confined to scales by her teacher, week after week. At the end of each lesson this man would say something like, “I think you’re almost ready for a real piece… but no, we’d better continue with the scales.”

Yikes! Can you imagine?

I don’t think too many of us would do that to our students, but the story is a useful reminder that LOVE, a sense of wonder, and excitement are what draw children to music, and we teachers must not forget that.

Music I Give My Beginners In The First Year Of Note Reading

ELTON JOHN – ROCKET MAN – Easy Piano Tutorial

Primarily, this music on this page is made up of Middle C songs with “shared-between-the-hands” melodies. Many will be familiar to your students. These are the same songs that are found in my book Songs Old & Songs New.

Additionally, there are some pieces that make use of left hand chords or very simple accompaniments.

Most of the Middle C melodies have chord suggestions or illustrative graphics for an enterprising accompanist to devise his or her own backup. A few also have written-out secondo parts, for easy duet playing.

Some of the songs duplicate songs for Beginners & also music with lettered notes, but this is because I tend to make songs with multiple levels of difficulty for my students.

    What Are Dynamic Marks

Dynamic marks are another important aspect of music reading skills. These are the musical terms and symbols that tell you the quality of each note or phrases of music. Dynamic marks can tell you to play very loud, very soft, or somewhere in between. They are usually written in Italian. We wont go into the details of dynamics marks, but you can find everything you need to know about them in the article below.

Carol Of The Bells Piano Notes/key

Free easy piano sheet music score, Scarborough Fair

I chose to arrange Carol of the Bells in the key of A minor. This makes it particularly easy for those who are new to piano, since A minor has no sharps or flats in it.

There will also be a few accidentals added into the arrangements .

The overall structure of the song is simple. It starts out with a repeated pattern in the right hand that continues for quite a few measures. . This pattern will eventually move up to higher notes, and then commense into some flowing melodies and scales.

With the easy version, I have tried to keep the left hand extremely simple too. It has single notes or intervals throughout the entire song, so you wont have to worry about moving around a bunch with both hands at the same time.

As you learn this song, dont forget to pay attention to dynamics as well! Ive included a few noted on the music, but here are some extra notes:

    • The repeated pattern in the right hand should be softer than whatever the left and is doing. It is not the melody.
    • When you start the section with intervals in the left hand, you can get slightly louder when the intervals go up, and then softer when they go back down.
    • Measure 21 is the climax of the piece, so dont hesitate to get bold and loud in the right hand there!
    • When you get to the very end, make sure to get softer and slow down, just like bells fading out into the distance.

What Key Is O Holy Night Written In

I have seen O Holy Night written in a variety of keys. Most typically, it is in the key of C major, which is what I have arranged it in here.

However, at my church, we play & sing it in Bb major, which is a little easier on the voice. Ive also seen it in D major.

What chords will you need to know?

Ive kept the easy version pretty simple, so there are just a few chords youll need to know. Most often throughout the song, you will see C major, F major, and G7. In addition, there are a few other simplified versions of chords like E minor, B major, and A minor.

    The Importance Of Scales

One thing that every great piano player has in common is regularly practicing scales. We can think of scales as finger exercises that are of the utmost importance to all piano players for multiple reasons

    • They help your fingers get used to repetition
    • You learn how to coordinate your hands
    • Your fingers will actually get a good workout and thereby can move faster
    • They will help you to recognize the tone of each note
    • They help to stretch your fingers to be able to go from one note to another rapidly
    • Scales encourage you to use the right fingering when playing

Here is a simple scale to start you off. Place your left pinky on the C note and your right thumb on the C note that is one step higher. After hitting the C notes together, use your next fingers on both hands to hit the notes to the right, and keep going until you end up with your left thumb hitting the G note, and your right pinky hitting the higher G note, then go backward.

Once you have learned all of the above songs, picking up other songs will be a piece of cake. Dont forget to keep practicing your scales for at least an hour a day. And you dont have to stop there. Start building your own style by adding your own notes and chords to songs you learn. Dont be afraid to try different things, it cant hurt, besides you will never know how it will sound until you try it, and if it sounds good, play it!
