Pacific Amphitheater At The Oc Fair & Event Center
Every summer, the Pacific Amphitheatre at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa kicks off their summer concert series around the 4th of July.
Opened in July 1983, Barry Manilow was the first to perform on stage here. The Pacific Amphitheater is surprisingly large, with seating for over 8,000 concert-goers. In comparison, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles seats just under 6,000.
Past Summer Series have been packed full of legendary performers, including comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short. Most performances take place during the annual Orange County Fair. Musical guests offer something for everyone with sounds from classic rock to country to reggae. Big names that have passed through Pacific Amp include the Psychedelic Furs, Rebelution, the Pacific Symphony, El Fantasma, Rick Springfield, Frankie Valli, Kool & The Gang, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Willie Nelson, Brett Eldredge, and Hunter Hayes.

Dueling Piano Bar Show Opens In Buena Park
BUENA PARK, Calif. â Julio Duran can’t contain his excitement.
Duran walks hurriedly around a room inside the Pirates Dinner Adventure building and makes final preparations for his newest concept: a dueling piano bar show.
What You Need To Know
- The new Beach Boulevard Club at the Pirates Dinner Adventure building in Buena Park will feature a dueling piano bar show
- The dueling piano show will showcase two musicians sharing the stage, battling it out, and taking turns singing and playing music with the audience requesting songs
- The Beach Boulevard Club will open from 7 p.m. to midnight starting Thursday, Jan. 20. The club will run Thursdays through Saturdays. The dueling piano show runs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- There is no cover charge yet
Duran, the general manager of the Pirates Dinner Adventure show in Buena Park, is seen arranging chairs and tables. He’s laying out the 1920s-themed costumes his servers will wear.
Duran points to the two black grand pianos on stage as he walks around. And he yells in excitement when workers roll in a wooden armoire, which will serve as the doorway for the adult visitors visiting the new Beach Boulevard Club.
“This is going to be like a secret entrance,” said Duran to Spectrum News during a tour of the new speakeasy cocktail lounge inside the Pirates Dinner Adventure building on Beach Boulevard in Buena Park.
Duran said the Beach Boulevard Club is something completely different.

We play in all genres, all decades. We dont have a set list, but our musicians have played in sold-out arenas from cruise ships to NBA halftime shows around the world. Duel Piano bars in Texas, Florida, California and several states, he said. Every single player has a huge range of music. Thats what makes fun of it. You add a second person on stage and youve doubled your repertoire.
Individual appetizers range from $10 to $20 or get a sample platter for the table chicken wings, Cheese sticks, jalapeo poppers and meatballs. There will be a full bar serving beer, wine, and cocktails, including a special dessert drink called Key Lime Pie.

Keys on Main, a new dueling piano bar at the Triangle in Costa Mesa, is offering a mix of music, levity and an interactive audience experience.
The club, which debuted March 9, was filled to near capacity for its grand opening in the ground-level space at the Triangle commercial complex at Harbor and Newport boulevards.
We do it better than anyone else has ever done it and we pride ourselves on just that, sad Bradley Scott, Keys on Main general manager. Its dueling pianos elevated as like never before.
It works this way:
Two pianos are positioned center stage, facing each other, for the all-request show.
Lets say you want to hear some Billy Joel.
You write a request and hand it to one of the keyboardists along with, perhaps, a $10 bill.
The musicians start playing Piano Man, but then another audience member delivers a note requesting the duet stops playing Piano Man with $15.
Say goodbye to Piano Man.
People love choice, said Katerina Malacova, 38, of Costa Mesa, who attended the Keys on Main opening with some friends. I think that is the main point here. Finally, we get to say what we want to hear. Interaction is pivotal.
Keys on Main owner, founder and lifelong musician George Hasenohrl, 38, was one of four keyboardists who manned a piano for the clubs opening night.
Having four pianists allows them to take breaks without music ever stopping.
I just dont like the song, he said.
It was a raging success, he said.

Over the summer, my husband I had the opportunity to enjoy a night out at Keys on Main, as an anniversary celebration. As we walked in, I immediately noticed how spacious the night club was. The energetic atmosphere makes Keys on Main a popular choice for birthdays, celebrations and corporate events. They offered tables to parties of two and on up. We noticed several birthday celebrations, and what seemed like co-workers enjoying a night out.

Summer is here, and now and then I need a break from the kids! Last week I headed to Keys On Main in Costa Mesa
I hired a sitter, and went on a much needed date night. When we arrived, music filled our ears Elton Johns B-B-B-Bennie and the Jets! First order of business, drinks! I ordered a Moscow Mule, and the ginger kissed my tastebuds. My husband ordered a Amaretto Sour.
Keys on Main has excellent live piano music, great ambiance, and delicious drinks. I cant wait to go again for a girls night!

This Dueling Piano Show features two grand pianos on stage with extremely talented musicians playing and singing your requests all night long. The musicians have worked for decades to learn thousands of songs and can sing and play any number of them for you at a moments notice. Anything thats been on the radio for the last 65 years is game. Typical songs request include everything from Bon Jovi to Billy Joel, Bruno Mars to Garth Brooks. Theyve been known to throw a little Snoop and Dr. Dre in the mix. Its like attending a rock concert of all your favorite bands!

The Observatory And The Constellation Room Orange County
This small-scale venue with stellar sound is the perfect place to see both big names and up-and-comers and there isnt a bad view in the house. Originally this location was the Galaxy Concert Theatre, but a 2011 renovation transformed it into a two-room live-show powerhouse.
The calendar features performances from varying genres including DJs, EDM, indie bands and more well-known acts like the Dickies, The Distillers, KRS-One, Wiz Khalifa, and MGMT. Panic! At the Disco performed two sold out pop up shows here with just two days notice, so keep an eye on the calendar.
The Observatory features the main stage for bigger shows with a bar, a few tables available for reservation in the rear of the venue, and stadium-style seating. The remaining area is standing room only and a second level offers an aerial view. The Constellation Room is a smaller, more intimate setting and no permanent seating.
